The wedding planning process is full of tough decisions, and with so much on your plate, making those decisions can be downright overwhelming. Even if you have a wedding coordinator to help, there are still some tough bridal decisions to make. Here are some tips for how to tackle them.

Whether your wedding is going to be a large or small event, planning a wedding involves tough bridal decisions for you, the bride, even if you have help from a professional wedding coordinator. From catering and honeymoon plans to the cake and your wedding dress, tough bridal decisions will sneak up on you at every turn.

Tough Bridal Decisions and How to Tackle Them

Here are some tough bridal decisions that are common to brides around the globe and how to tackle them to make the best decisions for you and your once-in-a-lifetime occasion:

Picking a maid of honor—Some brides know exactly who they want for their maid of honor, but other brides aren’t so lucky. It can seem nearly impossible to pick a maid of honor when you’re equally close to a best friend from college and a longtime high school friend. If you don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, consider picking a close family member or friend of the family for your MOH so you don’t have to choose between two good friends. You can also choose someone who lives closer to you so they can help with your fittings and other appointments.

Guest list size—Another tough bridal decision you might come across is settling on a large or small guest list. Knowing where and when to cut names on the list can be tough, but sticking to a budget might require you to cut back. If budget is an issue or you don’t want a large, hectic wedding, stick to immediate family members and your closest friends, and do not invite co-workers (unless you work with your BFF).

Honeymoon location—This is one of the biggest—and often toughest—bridal decisions you’ll have to make. Some couples have a hard time agreeing on a honeymoon location, and compromising can be easier said than done, especially if you have drastically different locations in mind. Still, attempt to identify similar qualities you’re both looking for in a honeymoon and then select a location according to something you can both agree on.
