Did you know that not all wedding planners offer the same services? If you haven’t signed with a planner yet, read that fine print and find out what services your wedding planner has to offer so you can find the right planner for your wedding.

If you’re like most couples, you’re not even aware of the fact that determining which type of wedding planner is right for your wedding means looking beyond price and expertise. Not all wedding planners are the same and you have to look at the fine print and determine which types of services the potential planner offers before deciding which type of wedding planner is right for your wedding.

The Full-Service Coordinator

The full-service coordinator is what most couples think of when they think “wedding planner.” This type of wedding planner handles all the details, from the moment you hire them right up until the day you say, “I do.” Nothing is left out of this planner’s services. When trying to decide if this type of wedding planner is right for your wedding, remember that the all-inclusive planner is often the most expensive.

Day Director

A day director planner is perfect for the bride that likes to plan everything but needs someone to oversee the details on the day of the wedding. This type of wedding planner doesn’t help with the details leading up to the wedding, but they take over on the day of the wedding to ensure that the bride can focus on her family, her friends, and her husband-to-be. Just be certain that you can handle all of the details yourself before deciding that this type of wedding planner is right for your wedding.

Event Designer

Event designers are a very different breed of wedding coordinator. Unlike the conventional wedding planner, the event designer doesn’t really plan the wedding. Instead, this type of wedding coordinator acts as more of a creative sounding board. They can help you come up with themes and styles for your wedding, and they can give you helpful advice that will ensure that your big day goes exactly as planned. If you want to plan the details by yourself but you have a really tight budget, then you are likely to find that this type of wedding planner is right for your wedding.
